He started in 1901 and retired in 1951.  Baseball was his only business.  As a player, Mack played every position in the majors except third base and pitcher, but he was primarily a brainy, wily, sometimes rule-bending catcher.  He was a .245 lifetime hitter; his best season was 1893 (the first year the pitcher was moved to 60'6\" from the former distance of 50'), when he hit .293.  For the first half of the 20th century he was probably the best-loved and most respected man in any field in America.Numbered Open Edition. Each 11 x 14 inch photograph is digitally scanned from the original vintage 4 x 5 inch glass plate negative.  A full \"archival digital print\" process has been used, incorporating museum-quality acid free paper and inks  This procedure ensures the finest quality and longest lasting image.  Each photograph is numbered and embossed with \"The Bruce Murray Collection\" name.  Each photograph is also accompanied by an \"About the Artist\" biography and a Certificate of Authenticity individually signed by the grandson of the photographer.  A print will be donated to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y., for their permanent collection.(framed dimensions: 23” x \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"FOLEY'S: THE PHILLY SPORTS SHOP","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":43495256555638,"sku":null,"price":199.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0687\/3343\/6022\/files\/DD4B02E6-3BF6-49F5-8917-511B373FF599.webp?v=1781046595"},{"product_id":"night-baseball-ty-cobb-thomas-edison-connie-mack-1927-framed","title":"Night Baseball - Ty Cobb, Thomas Edison \u0026 Connie Mack 1927 - Framed","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis is a remarkable grouping of legends in both sports and science.  It is hard to decide who is more famous in this photograph.  Thomas Alva Edison, the most famous inventor of the 20th century, visiting the A's spring training near his winter home and lab in Ft.
